According to FAO, Iran is aiming to produce 13.5 metric tons of wheat in 2017. In this amount, Iran will produce 25% more wheat than the average of last 5 years of country (IRNA)

Not only the production of Agriculture sector is being noticed, but also international companies are interested in investing in Iran agriculture field. A German company is trying to invest in agricultural and new energies sector in north eastern province of Iran, North-Khorasan. Biotech drugs differ from pharmaceutical drugs in that they use biotechnology as a means for manufacturing, which involves the manipulation of microorganisms, such as bacteria, or biological substances, like enzymes, to perform a specific process. Vice-minister of Agriculture in Gardening department has stated that Exporting of Saffron bulb from Iran, is against the rules and regulations of Iran Trade. In the past few years, saffron has been used to produce different types of medication. Also it has many other uses in other Industries. The Police of Iran, is closely looking for the Saffron bulb smuggler, specially in east of Iran, who smuggle it to Afghanistan. ( Ministry of Agriculture)
