Spanish banks ready to guarantee Iran’s petchem deals (Tehran Times – 9 May 2017)
Spanish ambassador to Tehran said that his country’s banks are ready to guarantee Iran’s petrochemical deals, IRNA reported on Monday.
Eduardo López Busquets made the remarks in a meeting with Marziyeh Shahdaie, the managing director of National Iranian Petrochemical Company (NIPC), on the sidelines of Iran Oil Show 2017 in Tehran.
According to Busquets, Iran soon will be able to start trade with the European companies through Spanish banks.
Ivory Coast calls for Iran help to renovate public transportation (IRNA – 9 May 2017)
Ivory Coast Minister of Transport Amadou Kone has asked for Iran’s help in refurbishing the African country’s public transportation system.
Amadou Kone made the remarks during a meeting on Monday with Mahdi Aghajafari Director General of the Africa Department in Iran’s Foreign Ministry in the Ivory Coast economic capital, Abidjan.
In the meeting, Amadou referred to Ivory Coast’s program to develop its transportation system till 2020 and the country’s need for 50, 000 light and heavy transportation vehicles.
He called for Iranian auto manufacturers’ help to accomplish the goal.
Iran to Display Vehicles in Azeri Exhibition (Financial Tribune – 9 May 2017)
Carmakers will attend the upcoming Baku Motor Show in the Republic of Azerbaijan on June 28-30. Companies which will attend include SAIPA, Iran Khodro, Bahman Group SAIPA Diesel, Pars Khodro as well as several automotive parts manufacturers, according to local automotive magazine Asre Khodro citing a state TV report on May 7. Several international firms are also expected to attend the event, including Ford, Suzuki, Lancia, Jeep and Range Rover. The expo is being held in conjunction with Iran’s International Trade Fairs (ITF) Group, which is active in the Azeri automotive market. Iran’s interest in the regional market continues to grow as several local manufacturers launched many new vehicles after a nuclear deal was signed with the six world powers (five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany) which came into effect in January 2016. Iran Khodro Group also has a joint venture assembly line in the country with Azeurocar worth $15 million. The group says it wants to make 10,000 passenger vehicles per annum in Azerbaijan.

Zarif: Iran, Iranians still prideful (IRNA – 9 May 2017)
Today, Iran and Iranians, in spite of all disloyalties, criticisms and pressures, remain to be superior, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif says.
“Iranians are increasing advancing in all areas and their livelihood is getting better and better,” Zarif said, addressing a conference of Iranian Association of Surgeons held in Tehran on Tuesday.
Now the world bows its head before the great people of Iran and addresses the nation with honor and dignity and US President Donald Trump publicly announces that Washington has fallen short of achieving even a single goal it was after regarding the nuclear agreement and the regional countries, on the other hand, say they are not capable of entering any competition with Iran because of the nuclear deal also known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Zarif said.
The Foreign Minister went on to praise the great role played by Iranian people in representing big achievements.

Iran-Austria business forum held in Tehran (Tehran Times – 9 May 2017)
Iran-Austria Business Forum was held in Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (TCCIMA) on Monday, IRIB news reported.
The forum was attended by the 25-member Austrian business delegation led by the president of Vienna Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as of TCCIMA Chairman Masoud Khansari and Iranian entrepreneurs.
The visiting Australians negotiated development of partnership with their Iranian counterparts in various fields including environment, information technology, pharmaceutical industry, oil, gas, and renovation.
According to Khansari, the bilateral trade between the two countries presently stands at €377 million and will reach €500 million in near future.
